The studies carried out within our department are oriented to fundamental research and development of new methodologies, as well as to applications with significant social impact. Our research spans from the study of physical phenomena related to electromagnetism, electrical and electronic devices, to the study of complex systems for information processing and transmission, control and optimization of processes, energy generation and distribution, biomedical systems.
DEI's research is inspired by emerging applications and critical needs, and creates intellectual opportunities for technological advances. DEI plays a key role in identifying novel directions and progresses of the state of the art in the following areas: Automation, Bioengineering, Electric Drives and Systems, Electrical and Electronic Measurements, Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetic Fields, Electronics, Operations Research, Telecommunications.
