Electromagnetic Fields
The area of Electromagnetic Fields pertains to the methodologies and techniques for the analysis and modelling of the physical phenomena on which wireless and wired information transmission is based in modern telecommunication systems.
Research studies in this field carried out within DEI include the following topics:
Optics: Study and characterization of optical systems for signals processing, telecommunication and sensors exploiting free space propagation, optical fiber, integrated optics.
RF circuits design: circuit-level analysis and design of wireless systems, also eco-compatible (i.e. energy-aware and biodegradable).
Propagation: theoretical and experimental analysis of the radio channel, development of models to assess the system performance and support radio planning.
