RF and Microwave Circuit and Electron Device Design, Characterization and Modeling

Research activity

The research activities carried out by the EDM-LAB group deal with the nonlinear characterization and modeling of high frequency and power transistors and circuits, the design of hybrid and integrated circuits in the field of RF, millimeter-wave and power electronics and the development of measurement techniques. These activities find applications in wireless communications, electronic equipment and industrial automation, including telecom front ends for base stations and mobile terminals, radars and communication satellite payloads. For more information, visit the research group home page.

Research staff

Research laboratory

The EDM group's laboratory is fully equipped for electronic circuits assembly, test and measurement up to microwave frequencies. The equipment includes Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Analyzers, Oscilloscopes and digitizers, power supply and bias systems and microwave lab components. Moreover, manufacturing tools for hybrid circuits production and PCB board assembly, drilling, milling, and bonding are available. Finally, a CAD room offers circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools for thesis and students activities. For more information, visit the laboratory page.
