LASIM - Laboratory for Infomobility Systems

(c) Matteo Zanzi

Research activities

LASIM is a laboratory of the ARCES electronics research center and is dedicated to the investigation of automatic control systems applied to vehicle navigation and telecommunications technologies. The application fields are mainly aerospace and land/surface vehicular navigation; infomobility and wireless position-based services are also subjects of experience for the laboratory.
The laboratory has collaborations with the Italian Space Agency and relevant aerospace industries.

Equipment

  • Fixed wing ultra-light research vehicle at Forlì airport with autonomous flight capabilities named LAURA
  • Fixed wing UAV drone with embedded GoPro camera and Ground Control Station with extended communication range up to 10km
  • Inertial test rig with two rotating axes table for the calibration of inertial sensors (accelerometers and gyros)
  • Ground Based Augmentation System Ground station with three georeferenced GNSS receivers for the computation of GNSS differential correction in a local area
  • DS-B Ground Station for reception of autonomous mode S transporders signal up to 400km and vehicular transponder for air field applications
  • Electronic laboratory for the realization of microcontrolled based PCB.
