Master Degree in Automation Engineering

The Master Degree in Automation Engineering is a Second-cycle, two-year Programme fully-taught in English providing in depth knowledge of Control Systems, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and Computing Engineering. Multidisciplinarity is its strength. Selected students will have the opportunity to attend their second year at Tongji University (Shanghai, China) in the framework of AlmaTong double-degree programme.

 

Objectives of the Master

Automation Engineering students will attain advanced competencies in robust control, system theory, software for real time control, diagnostic, vision and mechanical systems, enabling them to conceive, design, implement and start-up automation systems for machines, processes, systems, products and services.

Career opportunities

Interdisciplinarity is proven to be a significant asset of the Automation Engineer whose main career opportunities are in the manufacturing, industrial transformation and services industries, both conventional (transport, distribution and territorial management, etc.) and advanced with high added value (management consulting, automatic machines, computing, etc.) as well as in the civil services.
More specifically, graduates will find employment in public or private bodies which use automatic/mechanical/computing techniques and technologies to optimise production, manage and/or supply services.

 

Learning activities

Automation Engineering is a 120 credits, four semester Programme, consisting in mandatory subjects (63 credits), restricted electives learning activities (24 credits), open elective classes (12 credits) and a final project (21 credits). The core classes are mainly concentrated in the first year and aim at consolidating the fundamental knowledge.In the second year the students have the opportunity to choose elective classes in the fields of Automation and Robotics, Electronics and Mechanics.
Classes are organized with lectures and laboratory activities.
