The PhD programme in Biomedical, Electrical and Systems Engineering is characterized by an extraordinary breadth of scientific issues related to the contents of the scientific areas in the Department of Electric, Electronic and Information Engineering "Guglielmo Marconi" (DEI ) of the University of Bologna.

The level of scientific excellence achieved by DEI is documented by the number of international publications and collaborations, which put it at the top positions of the Department ranking within the University of Bologna.

Faculty and students in the PhD programme in Biomedical, Electrical, and Systems Engineering are then involved in scientific activity of the highest order, and make an important contribution to the development of research and innovation at DEI.

The breadth of training offered to PhD students in Biomedical, Electrical, and Systems Engineering is represented by three curricula activated in each field of research: Automatic Control and Operational Research, Bioengineering, and Electrical Engineering.
