Course on Short range radio propagation: theory, models and future applications

The Course, organized by Prof. Franco Fuschini, DEI - University of Bologna, in the framework of the European School of Antennas, will take place at the University of Bologna campus located in Cesena, at nearly 15 km from the Adriatic Sea. The course will include lectures from several renown international experts.

The lecturers are from University of Bologna (IT), Technische Universität Braunschweig (GE), Dublin City University (IR), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (GE), Université Catholique de Louvain (BE) and Polaris Wireless (CA, USA). The course is supported by the European COST Action 15104 “IRACON” and by the Guglielmo Marconi Foundation.

The course covers propagation theory - with a special focus on Ray Tracing and full wave modelling, channel characterization for medium/short range wireless systems and services, including millimeter wave and Terahertz radio propagation for 5G, as well as aspects related to MIMO and UWB technologies for wireless body area networks, medical and short range radar applications.

The registration fee is 440€ for students and 880€ for engineers from the industry, and include tuition, course material, coffee breaks and a social event. The course will give PhD students 2 ECTS credits.
